Welcome
This page details an early conceptual draft of a dashboard interface to measure how Optimism Fractal videos and events are making an impact across various metrics. This dashboard will help track and visualize our progress in increasing governance participation. Future phases of the dashboard’s development are intended to implement onchain data querying mechanisms to populate the dashboard.
The following metrics are examples that may be included in the design along with suggested target metrics displayed to measure our progress. It's important to note that all targets may adjust based on ecosystem dynamics and specific numbers may vary as we adapt to the evolving needs of the Optimism community. While the example metrics are primarily intended to demonstrate how the dashboard may look , we’ll strive to achieve these metrics as informal benchmarks to measure our progress.
- Optimism Fractal Event Participation: We will track the number of people joining Optimism Fractal events/videos and monitor onchain transactions submitted while playing the Respect Game. This metric is crucial as it directly exposes individuals to governance knowledge and creates a tangible record of participation. For example, we could set targets to increase monthly unique participants by 20% and generate 1,000 onchain attestations by the end of the mission to measure our success in attracting and engaging community members.
- Optimism Town Hall Participation: Monitoring attendance at Optimism Town Hall events and videos is essential to gauge community interest in governance discussions. This growth will indicate the effectiveness of our content in driving engagement with governance topics and provide opportunities for community members to learn about Optimism Collective governance processes. For example, we could set a target of increasing average attendance by 25% throughout the mission timeframe.
- Delegate Participation: Measuring the number of delegates participating in events and videos is crucial for assessing our impact on key governance actors. This engagement ensures that our content provides additional value for active governance participants and helps bridge the gap between delegates and the broader community. For example, we could set a target for at least 10 delegates regularly participating in our events and videos.
- Badge Holder Participation: Tracking the number of Citizens' House badge holders engaging with our videos and events is important for measuring our impact on the Citizen's House. This engagement will help ensure that our content addresses the needs and interests of Citizens' House members, fostering a more inclusive governance ecosystem. For example, we could set a target for at least 10 badge holders regularly participating in our events and videos.
- OP Delegation to Optimism Fractal: Measuring the amount of OP delegated to the Optimism Fractal smart contract provides a tangible indicator of trust in our community-driven governance processes. This metric represents increased confidence in Optimism Fractal's role in the ecosystem and demonstrates the community's willingness to entrust governance decisions to our processes, and enable our videos to show more direct interactions with Optimism governance. For example, we could set a target of reaching 50,000 OP delegated to the community account. More details about this can be found here.
- New Delegator Inspiration: Monitoring the number of event participants who become delegates after engaging with our videos and events is a direct measure of our impact on expanding governance participation. This metric showcases our ability to not only educate but also motivate community members to take an active role in governance. It could be measured via surveys, polls, and monitoring of announcements by new delegates. For example, we can set a target to inspire at least 10 new delegates through our events and video content.
- Delegate Voting Activity: Tracking the voting rate and participation of delegates who join Optimism Fractal events/videos helps measure our impact on active governance engagement. This metric demonstrates that our content not only attracts delegates but also encourages them to be more active in their governance responsibilities. For example, we can set a target to increase voting activity for 50% of participating delegates.
- Governance Engagement: Measuring the number of participants voting on Optimism Fractal council proposals, OREC proposals, and Optimism Town Hall topics provides insight into overall governance participation. This metric helps us assess the broader impact of our content on encouraging active participation in various aspects of Optimism's governance. For example, we can aim for 30 unique voters per month on these proposals.
- Video Engagement Metrics: Tracking views across all published videos and impressions on social media posts promoting the videos helps measure our reach and content effectiveness. We set a target of achieving 5,000 views and 30,000 impressions by the end of the mission. These metrics will help us understand how well our content resonates with the community and informs our content strategy moving forward.
- Cross-Community Engagement: Tracking the number of other Optimism ecosystem projects or communities that engage with our content or adopt our tools helps measure our broader ecosystem impact. This metric demonstrates our ability to extend our impact beyond our immediate community and contribute to the growth of the wider Optimism ecosystem. For example, we can aim to collaborate with at least 5 other communities during the mission timeframe and onboard 25 new participants to Optimism governance through these initiatives
