Hey friends, hope you’re having a great week!
Here is a proposal to start the third season of Optimism Fractal on May 9th, following a two week spring break. This season of Optimism Fractal will be generally aligned with the upcoming round of Retro Funding, which starts in May and aims to reward onchain builders who contribute to the success of Optimism.
Council members, please review the proposal and vote before this week’s council ends at 17 UTC tomorrow. As you can see in last week’s registration poll the current councilors are @Hodlon, @Rosmari, @Tadas, and me.

We discussed the new seasonal structure at last week’s planning session and everyone in attendance agreed on the general idea described in the posts above. I originally suggested a 1-2 week break between seasons, but after last week’s event I decided that a 2 week spring break is best to give everyone more time to relax and prepare for the upcoming season of Retro Funding. We also agreed that it’s best to create a proposal that is limited in scope for now regarding the dates and structure of seasons, then later define more details.
For anyone who missed it, you can watch our discussion about this at last week’s Optimism Fractal event and review the posts above for more details. As always, feedback is welcome and I’d be curious to hear your thoughts :)
As a reminder, there’s about 31 hours left to vote for this week’s registration poll if you’d like to participate in the next Optimism Fractal Council.
I also recently created a page at OptimismFractal.com/council where everyone can learn how the council works. It’s a work in progress, I’d appreciate feedback and welcome collaboration. There is also a related task in the community notion site where anyone can share their thoughts or contribute towards creating educational resources about our consensus processes.
