Charmverse, Notion, and Hats
Me and Jacob Homanics created the Optimism Fractal Hats Tree that enables anyone who has earned Respect at Optimism Fractal weekly events to claim a Rookie Hat, which grants access to the Optimism Fractal charmverse space and a new networking page for builders.
Charmverse is an innovative web-based platform designed to help communities and teams collaborate, manage projects, and organize information. It combines tools for creating and managing tasks, documents, and discussions in a single space. Charmverse is particularly popular with decentralized autonomous organizations and onchain communities, as it supports governance features, token management, and community engagement.
I’m considering to set up an Agreement Module that allows people to opt into showing their details publicly or privately in the Optimism Fractal notion and/or charmverse site. This could help promote each community member and help people better understand the talented builders in the Optimism Fractal community. We’d need to decide the best way to organize this to make it work well and I have some ideas that we could discuss.
You can learn more at Charmverse.io and see the Optimism Fractal Charmverse here.

Gated Chats or Resources We could integrate with something like guild.xyz or collab.land for some sort of gated chat, charmverse, or notion where only community members have earned x amount of respect can join. A gated chat could potentially serve a very helpful purpose in the future, but there hasn’t been demand for this yet and it also could fracture the conversation or result in helpful discussions being unnecessarily hidden. So I don’t know if it would provide much benefit at this point. A gated charmverse or notion might be more interesting and useful. I’ve thought about using charmverse several times and could imagine it being beneficial us well to have a place for more sensitive information, though I’m not exactly sure what we’d use it for off the top of my head right now either. One idea that I’ve thought about a lot is to have a database with information about builders in Optimism Fractal. I think this could be really useful and become a sort of social networking site where you can see each person’s contributions on a weekly basis as well as their contact info, anything else they want to add, etc. I worked on building this in notion last month because there could be value in Optimism Fractal community members being able to learn about each other in one place, but decided against sharing it publicly for now because I didn’t want to share people’s information too much without their agreement. If we added the agreement module where community members could consent to this onchain and then only certain people could have access to the database, then it could enable this kind of use case on Notion or Charmverse now. I think there is also an option to set commenting, editing, and viewing permissions per page with Hats, which could enable many more flexible and granular use cases in the future. Overall I like the idea of providing more utility to Respect with Hats and also enabling more privacy so the Optimism Fractal has the option to coordinate more privately in a fair, credibly neutral way with Hats. I think it will take some time to design this well, but we could probably get started in some way with Charmverse or Notion now.
