Next Chapter: New OPTOPICS Poll for Our Home Stretch

As we enter these final weeks of Season 3, I'm excited to share a new OPTOPICS poll that will guide our discussions through February and March at Optimism Town Hall.

Through our first seven events of 2025, we've made tremendous progress in areas ranging from ORDAO deployment to RetroFunding insights, from Optimism Season 7 analysis to strategic planning discussions. These valuable discussions, documented at OptimismTownHall.com/season3, have helped build momentum as we work to scale Ethereum's values and technology through the Superchain.

The momentum we've built positions us well for continued growth as we progress through February and look ahead to Q2. To help structure our upcoming discussions and coordinate topics effectively over the next two months, I've created a new OPTOPICS poll with nearly 20 carefully selected topics spanning crucial areas of development where you can vote on topics.

If this topic proposal is approved, we’ll discuss whatever topic has the most votes in the OPTOPICS poll during this Thursday’s event.

New OPTOPICS Framework and Implementation

To help structure our upcoming discussions, I've created a comprehensive OPTOPICS poll with nearly 20 topics spanning these crucial areas. These carefully curated topics span multiple crucial areas:

• Optimism governance and Season 7 initiatives
• Strategic planning for Optimism Fractal and Town Hall
• Technical development and infrastructure
• Ecosystem updates across Superchain, Ethereum, and fractal communities
• Community-driven initiatives and educational resources

This poll can guide our conversations through the remainder of Season 3, while maintaining flexibility for new topics and emerging priorities. In parallel I'm also exploring improvements to the OPTOPICS system with the Snapshot team to enable more dynamic topic creation and voting features - imagine being able to easily add new topics throughout the week and allocate votes fluidly across them. While we develop these enhancements for future seasons, our current format provides a robust foundation for coordinating discussions through Season 3.

Together, we can maximize our impact for the Collective, help each community member thrive, and actualize the Optimistic Vision to create a more equitable internet for all.

Today marks the start of our newly approved bi-weekly cadence for both Optimism Town Hall and Optimism Fractal events. I propose we continue playing OPTOPICS at the town hall with our existing topics poll from our previous events for democratic discussion selection. Currently, the most-voted topic focuses on Optimism Fractal and Optimism Town Hall planning for 2025 - a crucial discussion given several strategic developments that emerged during our winter break. I believe this provides an ideal focus for today's session and I'm eager to hear everyone's perspectives. Below is some important context and exciting new developments on this topic, as well as details about the format for this week’s event.

Context and Strategic Evolution

Building on our comprehensive planning discussions from late 2024 (curated in Optimism Fractal & Town Hall 2025 Planning: Strategic Evolution), recent developments have illuminated valuable opportunities to enhance our coordination infrastructure and maximize our impact in the new year.

1. Tadas has shared an insightful analysis in a blog post examining how the Optimism Fractal community can optimize meeting schedules, development cycles, deliberation processes, and funding mechanisms. His examination highlights the importance of creating dedicated spaces for focused discussion while ensuring sustainable development of our technical infrastructure. He proposed an innovative seven-week meeting structure to address these needs.
2. Inspired by Tadas' analysis, I'm developing a strategic framework document titled "Growing Together: Strategic Evolution of Fractal Communities in 2025." This work-in-progress explores how we can optimize our bi-weekly schedule while strengthening synergies between Optimism Fractal and Eden Fractal. It includes two key proposals for implementing Cagendas at Eden Fractal and establishing core intents that complement Optimism Fractal's mission of growing the Superchain ecosystem.
